Crawshay Films’ debut feature documentary from director Tim Mackenzie-Smith, telling the incredible untold story of Cymande, the Black British band from South London whose pioneering blend of funk, soul, jazz and Caribbean grooves shaped music for five decades. Despite success in the US, they faced racism and indifference from the UK music industry and split in 1975, but their songs lived on through sampling by The Fugees, De La Soul, Soul II Soul and countless others, prompting their return after 40 years. Featuring tributes from Mark Ronson, Jazzie B, Khruangbin and more. Premiered at SXSW and the BFI London Film Festival.
