Grain Media’s feature documentary, directed by Oscar-nominated Honeyland filmmaker Tamara Kotevska, follows Little Amal, a 12-foot puppet of a Syrian refugee girl, on her three-month journey from the Turkish border across Europe. Interweaving Amal’s odyssey with the real story of a young Syrian refugee in Turkey, the film premiered at DOC NYC and was hailed by The Hollywood Reporter as “pure cinematic magic”.
